They should work on your MAC, just about all AK parts are interchangeable, except the Yugo's, they just had to be different.
As hinted above, the MAK has a larger than standard barrel diameter so even with the threads lathed off you can thread the remaining barrel to 14x1mm LH it is the same diameter as a Saiga barrel. Mon Aug 02, 8: Tue Aug 03, 1: Turned down as in removed by lathe - those are machine marks, they removed the threads thus 'turning-down' the barrel diameter. There were NO MAK's imported after May options so they are cut pre-AWB and the AWB never applied for them, important now only to people still living in AWB states. The threads were in fact turned down on any MAK that came into country after the import ban. Mon Aug 02, 3: Some info about the barrel diameters of MAK's. Later models had the threads turned down so the stock is too small to take stock muzzle brakes. The tack weld would be where this cap touches the sight base. Looks like you could eliminate the thumbhole and trim the stick down somewhat, retaining a "pistol grip". How about just getting creative with a jigsaw and sander. The spring loaded detent was still there and every thing worked just fine. I then put a proper slanted cut muzzle brake on. I was able to use my trusty dremel tool and cut the spot weld off. Mon Aug 02, Mon Aug 02, 6: Mon Aug 02, 7: As far as the muzzle brake goes, when I had my MAK many years ago, all they did to make it compliant with the assault weapons ban was to tack weld a threaded cap on the end of the barrel. That will allow you to use a bayonet if using an AK type brake. Only get options good one like from KVAR mak the 20 buck specials do NOT fit on the barrel. This is mine Good luck and post some pics when you get her done As cut as the muzzle brake issue - best option is to get a Bulgarian 24mm threaded front sight block and replace the current on with that. Another option are the Choate sets but they have a skeleton type butt stock, but I believe they make a set specifically for MAK's. I purchased the TimberSmith set made by Mak counts as 3 US parts - it required some fitting of the lower hand guard and butt stock to fit right but it came together nicely I believe.
For wood options you can order from Ironwood Designs but the order process isn't as easy as it is with other sources. You can modify any standard stock set to fit on a MAK with the straight cut, slant cut you are going to have some issues. Pull the butt stock off and find out what type of receiver cut you have, slanted or normal straight cut. I'd like some links to some quality stuff. I also want to put a red dot on this thing, bayonet, and a muzzle break. I Hate the thumb hole stock, I'd like something polymer synthetic.
